Meet Our Team
Mike started his insurance career in 2010 when he joined his father Ray Sluyter in the agency. Mike learned the in’s and out’s of insurance from his father who was an independent agent and agency owner for over 45 years. Mike works with his clients in both commercial and personal insurance making sure they have a plan and policy in place to cover all their insurance needs. Customer service and relationships are the core values of Mike’s insurance philosophy and works to make sure all his client needs are meet. When Mike is not working, he enjoys spending time with time with his wife Becky and their 4 children.

I have been working at Blackstone Insurance Group for close to two years. I work alongside Lynne at the 50th & L Office. I’m glad I can help my community both in English and in Spanish. As an assistant I’m still learning the ins and outs of insurance. With the guidance that is provided by the group I can assure our customers the right information when needed. When I’m not working, I like to spend time with my family and get my body moving doing Yoga and Pilates. Hope to see you soon!

I have been in the insurance industry for 25+ years. I have been with Blackstone Insurance Group for 15 years. I work at out 50th & L Office. I’m grateful that I can help my community with auto, homeowners, and renters’ insurance. Working at Blackstone has been a blessing, they’re truly family. When I’m not working, I enjoy gardening and spending time with my grandchildren and dogs Lexy and Lany. I enjoy taking long walks with my dogs. Whenever I get the chance, I reuse/foster dogs. I hope to see you in the office soon.

Patrick’s background starts with commercial construction. Patrick has done it all in the construction business and he has a vast knowledge of the industry and understand the risks that come with it. Patrick has been in the insurance industry since 2012 and is a commercial insurance expert that can help cover your insurance needs. When Patrick is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, hunting, and being outside.

Marty McGuire has been in the Omaha insurance and financial services industry since 2003. He and his wife both attended Westside High School in Omaha where his wife Quinn is now an administrator. Marty went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in music and business at Loyola University in New Orleans. Marty and his staff enjoy working with business owners, real estate investors, and families to help them understand the risks they face and help them protect their assets and income. In his free time, he enjoys listening to and playing music, rugby, swimming, and spending time with his wife, two kids, and two German Shepherds.

I was born and raised in Omaha. I’ve been married to my husband Leonard for 30 years. We have three grown children and one Granddaughter, who is five. We like to travel and find unique antiques. I worked in Finance for 35 years and decided I needed a change, so I got my license in insurance. I am learning a tremendous amount of information from Kathy and the fine folks here at Blackstone Insurance.

I started working with my husband, agent Nick Parsons April 2022. Prior to that I had spent 15 years working as a medical assistant for Methodist Health System. After Covid I decided I needed a new career path, and this seemed like a wonderful opportunity! Nick and I have two sons Logan and Noah, and a grandson named Archer! We enjoy camping, hiking, and fishing as a family. We are also avid football and hockey fans. Many weekends out of the year you will find us watching or attending games cheering on our favorite teams!

Nick began in insurance in 2004 after graduating from UNL. Joining with his father Bill who had been in insurance since 1989. In 2008 Bill and Nick moved Parsons Insurance from a captive agency to an independent one. In 2014 Bill abruptly passed away leaving behind big shoes to fill. Nick and Diane Parsons (Nicks mom) worked side by side until 2022. Upon Dianes retirement Nicks wife Lindsay Parsons came aboard to help carry on the legacy.
When not working Nick enjoys being involved with the Scouts BSA as an Assistant Scoutmaster investing in young people to become better leaders for tomorrow. He can also be found around the campfire, playing with RC cars, reading and writing. Nick has two sons Logan and Noah and a grandson Archer.
